A long-awaited evening — No. 01
14 August 2026
Asunción, Paraguay
Fourteen months, three cities, one yes. We met one spring evening in New York — Serhiy came up from DC, Letizia crossed the river from Hoboken, and neither of us went home at a reasonable hour. A long train ride across the Hudson has been a recurring theme ever since.
A summer of golden hours followed — evenings on the Hoboken waterfront with Manhattan glowing across the water, and the quiet realization that this was the person we wanted next to us for every one of them. Then a first long trip together: white-washed villages and Mediterranean afternoons in Sitges, the gentle suspicion that we were rehearsing for a life of traveling well as a two.
The question itself came home, in our apartment in Hoboken, with the Christmas tree and no fanfare — December 22, 2025. She said yes before he finished asking. Then coffee, a selfie from the top of the city, and the Rockefeller tree the same night, because some news can't be kept inside.
Here's the short version of the story — the long version we'll tell you in Asunción.
The main airport for Asunción. Taxi or rideshare from arrivals; rates are modest by US/EU standards.
Mention the wedding for the group rate. Details and booking link will land here ~3 months out.
A second option in case the primary block fills.
Our favorite little place, overgrown with flowers. Closer to the date we'll share the name.
A proper Paraguayan tereré — if you know, you know.
For the morning after — about an hour, mostly flat, plenty of cafés along the way.

Countdown to the long-awaited evening
14 August 2026
Black-tie optional for the ceremony and reception — think dark suits, elegant dresses. Asunción in August is mild (winter), so bring a light jacket for after dinner.
Plus-ones are addressed by name on your invitation. If their name is on it, yes — and we can't wait to meet them.
We're keeping the ceremony and reception adults-only so parents can enjoy a long night off. If you need help arranging childcare, reach out and we'll point you to options.
Many nationalities do not. US, EU, UK and most South American passports can enter visa-free for tourism. Please check your country's current requirements — we're happy to help if you're unsure.
Please reply by June 15, 2026 so we can finalize the count with our venue in Asunción.
August is late winter in Paraguay — mild days (around 22°C / 72°F) and cool evenings (around 12°C / 54°F). Layers are your friend.
